Q & A of the Day - What should this socket ring main MCB be rated at?
Question: What should the MCB for a socket ring main in a mobile home be rated at? Also, what is the relevant legislation that covers this type of installation?

The circuit protection I have at the moment is a 10A type B MCB, and I'm having trouble with this MCB tripping because of overloading. Surely this MCB should be 32A as per a domestic ring main in a house?

Answer: Standard circuit arrangements allow for a 32A MCB to protect a 2.5mm RFC covering 100m2 or less.
