Q & A of the Day – For this motor starter, what type of overload should I use?
This Q & A is one of thousands posted in our Technical Expertise area, and answered on a daily basis by our Voltimum Experts.

Question: Is it possible to use a Telemecanique Tesys LUCA05FU overload, in place of a Tesys LUCD05FU overload?

This being used on an extractor fan motor, with basic wiring.

Unfortunately also, I’ve no idea about how to test the LUCD overload.

Answer: The LUCA05FU can indeed be used instead of the LUCD05FU – a Class 10 standard unit rather than Class 20 advanced.
