Jamie Harrison asks about the earthing of sub-distribution board earth CPC and the cables that could be used for it. His question is answered by the ECA (Theme – Cables and Wiring):

Question: If one feeds a sub-distribution board, say to an internal garage or workshop - and it is dependent on the load, are PVC 6mm or PVC 10mm twin & earth (T&E) cables suitable for the earth circuit protective conductor (CPC) as long as all the test parameters are satisfied?
Answer: Normally yes, so long as the equation in Regulation 543.1.3 is satisfied, and that the disconnection time is met.
