Q & A of the Day - Can I spur from a single socket to feed another single socket?
Question: If a an existing single socket is fed from a ring circuit as a un-fused spur, is it permissible to spur again from this single socket to feed one more single socket?

Appendix 15 is informative, but which regulation might it deviate from?

Also would it be permissible to place a 20A MCB in place of the first socket and then feed the two socket outlets from there?

Answer: An un-fused spur should only feed one twin socket-outlet to prevent any possible overloading of the current carrying capacity of the cable Regulation 433.1.1and 433.1.5.
