Question: My query is regarding the use of standard 400V TP&N distribution boards as 110V distribution boards.
Basically, the TP&N distribution board is supplied via its standard three-pole main incomer from the secondary side of a fixed 110V CTE Tx.
The 110V supply is connected to L1 and L2, with L3 left unused. Double pole MCBs are then fitted to the L1 and L2 busbar connections with outgoing circuits connected as applicable.
I would like to know if there is any issue with this arrangement, and if so what the issue is.
Answer: Adapting the distribution board for use in this way is acceptable, provided that it is being used within its capacity.
It needs to be suitably labeled that it has been so adapted.
