Understanding the use of LED Lighting - an introductory course

Offering a broad perspective on how LED Lighting can be used to full effect and to dispel some of the myths around the technology of this Lighting source. The IET Code of Practice for LED Lighting has been used to support the content of this course

What is an LED? How does it work? & what are the differences to traditional lighting?

Attendees will gain an understanding of LED Lighting systems what aspects should be considered such as: specification, scheme design, procurement, installation, maintenance and control of both new and retrofit projects

A one day course with group exercises and case study, covering:
•    Terminology.
•    Light source design and technology.
•    Comparisons to traditional light sources.
•    Installation, thermal management, drivers and wiring.
•    Control systems, dimming methods and protocols: low and mains voltage.
•    Maintenance, inspection and testing.
•    Retrofit LED lighting systems.
•    Installation cost comparisons.
