LEDVANCE publishes 2025 Sustainability Report: a strategic milestone on the road to decarbonisation

LEDVANCE, one of the world's leading providers of innovative lighting solutions, has published its comprehensive Sustainability Report for the 2025 financial year. Under the guiding principle “Power Through Light”, the company sets out ongoing initiatives and measurable progress across the three ESG areas of Environmental, Social and Governance. A key milestone is the voluntary alignment of its reporting with the criteria of the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) for the first time. In doing so, LEDVANCE is laying a transparent foundation for forthcoming regulatory requirements and underlining its long-term climate targets.

The transformation of the product and solutions portfolio towards a circular economy and greater energy efficiency lies at the heart of the strategy. In the 2025 financial year, 97.1 per cent of the overall portfolio was classified as taxonomy-eligible under the EU Taxonomy Regulation, demonstrating the impact of the company's consistent, long-standing focus on energy-efficient LED and smart lighting solutions. In October 2025, LEDVANCE's sustainability commitment was also confirmed independently: EcoVadis, an internationally recognised platform for assessing sustainability performance, awarded the company Gold for the first time. This places LEDVANCE among the top 5 per cent of all companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide, strengthening the trust of partners and customers alike.

Targeted investment in green infrastructure

Alongside product design, LEDVANCE continues to invest in expanding its own infrastructure. A key lever here is the gradual increase in self-generated renewable energy directly at its sites worldwide. A flagship project is the new 400 kW solar park at the French site in Molsheim. The photovoltaic system supplies clean electricity for local operations, reduces the on-site CO₂ footprint on-site and strengthens regional energy independence. In addition, LEDVANCE continuously improves the energy efficiency of its production and logistics sites across the globe.

Sustainable guardrails for the future

Looking ahead, LEDVANCE is taking clear steps to further reduce emissions across the entire value chain. Building on the climate targets defined for 2030 and 2050, the company is expanding its global ESG data management to ensure even more precise tracking of all environmental factors. One focus is on deeper engagement with supply chains, to unlock potential in the more complex Scope 3 categories as well. LEDVANCE is also continuously exploring ways to embed sustainability criteria more firmly into operational decision-making, in order to further reduce emissions from its own business activities and support the transition to more climate-friendly business practices.
