GlassGuard®, Europe’s leading manufacturer of fragment retention lamps, has appointed Chris Wright as director of manufacturing.

GlassGuard® appoints new director

Chris joined the company upon leaving school and has been with the business for 17 years, managing production, factory staff and process machinery.

During this time, he has overseen the development of the company’s production process including the introduction of bespoke extrusion technology for GlassGuard BlackBand® to EN 61549 standard - the recognised industry standard which incorporates requirements for fragment retention lamps.

This new role, which recognises Chris’ contribution to the development of GlassGuard®’s manufacturing processes, will see Chris further develop plant efficiencies based on the company’s continuous improvement programme.

Chris will also have a pivotal role in ensuring that GlassGuard® continues to lead the way in the manufacturing of high quality fragment retention lamps in order to meet the demands of the company’s home and export markets.

Managing director Chris Payne says: “We take great pleasure in welcoming Chris to the role of director of manufacturing, an appointment which is testament to his dedication to the company over the last 17 years. These are exciting times for GlassGuard® and Chris’ contribution will be vital, as we continue to meet the challenges of a growing business”.

GlassGuard® is a trading division of Fotolec Technologies Ltd.
