Fire- and EMC-resistant self-adhesive gasket

Published: 1 December 2003 Category: News

EMKA’s 1016 series self-adhesive gasket is now available in fire resistant versions to UL94 VO and 94HB ratings and in EMC protection formats to reduce electrical and magnetic interference:

Fire- and EMC-resistant self-adhesive gasket

This closed cell expanded neoprene gasket material from EMKA comes in standard strips from 3mm to 80mm thick and catalogue widths from 10mm up to 80mm, with unlimited custom configurations, e.g. sheets and punched shapes.

EMC versions have a conductive external skin, which attenuates the transmission of electro-magnetic interference across the sealed boundary. Typical applications for 1016 gasket include gap sealing, noise reduction, e.g. from internal equipment; vibration damping and impact cushioning on cabinets, furniture and machinery.

Self-adhesive:

The 1016 series in neoprene and natural rubber, is self-adhesive to clean non-porous surfaces, e.g. painted/unpainted metal, plastics and sealed natural materials, such as varnished timber.

The specification of 1016 series neoprene includes working temperatures of +70ºC to -30ºC - fire resistant versions +85ºC to -40ºC and resistance to many typical commercial/industrial chemicals and gases.
