Emerson launches its new Matrix S chiller

Emerson Network Power’s MATRIX Series S air-cooled chillers have been designed to meet today's demanding market requirements, provide cooling capacities from 50kW to 280kW. The Series S complements the MATRIX range of screw compressor chillers which offers cooling capacities up to 1200 kW.

The features that have proved so invaluable in technological and industrial installations - small footprint, low noise and high efficiency - are now available in Matrix S. This will not only benefit the smaller traditional applications but also the hotel and leisure industry, education and health care sectors, in fact wherever noise, space and/or running costs are an issue. As these concerns are increasingly affecting specifiers and end users today the advanced design and technological features of this new range position it at the forefront of the market.

MATRIX Series S is available in six sizes and two versions - chiller only or chiller with integral free-cooling section - in Standard, Low Noise and Quiet sound emission options, enabling true system customisation.

Free cooling technology improves energy efficiency:

Innovative design, using large surface dimension heat exchangers, highly reliable scroll compressors and high performance condenser fans assures optimum operating efficiency even in low noise and quiet versions. Free cooling technology also has a considerable impact on improving energy efficiency and in reducing running costs. It allows optimum use of external air, according to the climatic conditions, minimising energy consumption as well as wear and tear of the main components.

Extremely quiet:

A major characteristic of The Matrix S is its unrivalled performance in low sound emissions, the Quiet version generally being 2-3dB(A) quieter than the average in its category. In addition to the use of specially designed condenser coils and silent scroll compressors, new generation sickle-profile fans, together with specially designed fan nozzles have contributed to lower noise levels and increased efficiency. Moreover, the optional EC fans can reduce sound emissions by as much as 10dB(A), when compared with traditional fan speed adjustment systems.

These high performance features however, have not compromised the compact dimensions of the Matrix S unit, which has one of the smallest footprints for its type on the market.

The Matrix S is available with a full range of options, including pump sets, pressurisation units and buffer vessels, epoxy coated coils, heat recovery and full BMS compatibility.
