The Electrical Wholesaler Awards 2015 returned to London following the successful debut last year. Organised by Datateam Business Media Ltd, which publishes Electrical Wholesaler magazine, this important event recognises and highlights the achievements and services of both electrical wholesalers and manufacturers. And one of the judges was Voltimum UK’s MD Eddie Embleton. By James Hunt:
Now in its second year, the glittering EW Awards 2015 event was held on Thursday 14th May 2015, in London’s Millenium Hotel.
There, the awards were presented in front of a large number of guests, as well as sponsors including Voltimum founder member organisation Schneider Electric, Contactum, One Electrical, Luckins (part of the Amtech Group), Selectric, B.E.G. Luxomat, ML Accessories, Eland Cables, Lyvia Electrical, Electrical Times magazine and also Voltimum UK & Ireland.
There were 14 categories in total up for awards. The winners and their categories are:
- Best wholesaler: 10 Branches and under – Moss Electrical
- Best wholesaler: 11-25 Branches – KEW Electrical
- Best wholesaler: 26+ Branches – YESSS Electrical
- Best Individual Electrical Wholesale Branch – RECON
- Best Electrical Wholesaler Website – Sparks
- Branch Manager of the Year – Moss Electrical
- Training Excellence Award – Simon Abrahams, LAMPS
- Best Supplier Customer Service - Knightsbridge
- Best Supplier Website – Marshall Tufflex
- Best New Product – Ansell
- Best Marketing Campaign – Schneider Electric
- Best Training Provider – Heat Mat
- Best overall Supplier – Knightsbridge
- Lifetime Contributor to the Electrical Wholesale Industry – Jane Gower, FEGIME

A key night of networking and celebration

Voltimum UK involvement
Voltimum UK & Ireland has been involved with the Electrical Wholesaler Awards 2015. Managing Director, Eddie Embleton, explained: “Working with electrical wholesalers is key for Voltimum, so we are proud to support the EW Awards and to see these businesses rewarded for their efforts.

The event also raised money for the sector's own Electrical Industries Charity (formely the EEIBA).
