Electric heating experts, Creda NOBO, recently donated several of its C4N Slimline heaters to Manchester Mencap for use in the renovation of Entwistle, a rural holiday home for adults with learning difficulties.

Creda Nobo Helps Heat Holiday Home

Built in 1875 as a village school, Entwistle is set in the beautiful Lune Valley, Lancashire, overlooking Hornby Castle. Keen to provide those with learning difficulties and their carers with a place to escape to and enjoy a holiday, the charity undertook the renovation of Entwistle with no funding. “We relied purely on the goodwill from suppliers and people offering their time, skills and advice to complete the project,” commented John Gurd, Manchester Mencap Trustee and Entwistle Project Manager. Before embarking on the renovation of the 136 year old building, Manchester Mencap conducted an assessment of the property. “The assessment identified the need for substantial improvements to the building’s maintenance and recommended the replacement of the existing storage heaters,” explained John. In search of a replacement heating system, John spoke with the building manager at his new apartment block, who kindly offered to donate a number of spare Creda NOBO electric heaters from the development. Ahead of installing the heaters, John contacted Creda NOBO. He recalled: “On hearing of the project, the manufacturer offered to conduct a full heating assessment of Entwistle and agreed to supply parts and additional C4N Slimline heaters free of charge. “Creda NOBO’s generosity brought the renovation of Entwistle at least eighteen months forward.” Chair of Manchester Mencap, Kate Maggs, conveyed the organisation’s gratitude to Creda NOBO: “Creda NOBO’s help gave the project a massive boost and saved us a huge amount of time, which we would have had to commit to raising funds to replace the existing heating system. The supply of the products ensures Entwistle is suitably heated with an economical, modern and stylish system allowing year round use of the holiday home. “To say that we were overwhelmed and extremely grateful to Creda NOBO is a massive understatement.” Martin Shepherd, sales director for Creda NOBO, said: “We were delighted to supply the project with the necessary heaters it required and to contribute to the creation of a holiday home, which we hope will be enjoyed by the many people helped by Manchester Mencap.” Creda NOBO’s C4N Slimline heaters are manufactured in six output ratings from 500W to 2000W. Up to 1500W the heater capacities increase by 250W increments. Built to a high specification and integrated with a choice of accurate and totally silent electronic thermostat modules, the heaters ensure that room temperatures remain constant with no risks of over or under heating. The C4N Slimline heaters can be supplied with preset fixed economy temperatures, usually set at 16oC, and comfort levels, usually set at 21oC or 24oC. If required they can be made tamperproof with lockable covers.
