CEF is bringing its CPD accredited TechTalk events to even more venues due to customer demand. The award-winning distributor has announced additional dates and locations for these free events which focus on all things renewable.

CEF TechTalks are back – with a focus on renewables and regulations

EV, PV, wiring regulations and much more

Held in partnership with the IET, the new CEF TechTalks include a technical seminar presented by CEF’s Head of Technical Solutions, Darren Staniforth, supported by Dave Austin, Technical Presenter of the Learning Lounge. The IET will also be on hand to answer questions directly about proposed changes to regulations.

There is also a mini trade show with exhibitors demonstrating the latest products and innovations from brands including Schneider, Electrium, Rointe, Rolec, Scolmore and Aico.

Focus on renewables

This new series of TechTalks will help electricians and contractors get up to speed with the proposed changes to Electric Vehicle Charging Installations and Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Supply Systems.

TechTalks presenter Darren Staniforth says: “I see it as my job to share the golden nuggets of information that our electricians and contractors need to stay compliant and safe, and to help them provide a great service to their customers, just like we do at CEF.”

What you can expect from the new series of Tech Talks

  • A detailed insight into section 722 “Electric Vehicle Charging Installations” and section 712 “Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Supply Systems”

  • A look at the requirements of BS7430 and how to use them when installing generator sets such as PV and Battery storage installations using islanding mode

  • Hear first – the proposed changes to the IET’s CoP for EV Charging Equipment installations

  • Put your regulation questions to the IET

  • Understand why PME installations require additional considerations

  • How to use Certification and EICR

  • Technical Q&A

Bigger and better

Over 4,000 electricians and contractors attended the first series of TechTalks between April and July 2022. Each received a certified CPD certificate for 3.5 hours of training and a pack of 18th Edition 2nd Amendment TechCards free.

The latest TechTalks will tour the UK from October 2022 to March 2023. Find out more and book your free place at cef.co.uk/tech-talks.
