Question:

Hello, Can I install a socket in a cabinet in a room with a shower? The cabinet has a door.

Answer:

Hi there

Regulation 701.512.3 prohibits socket outlets within 3 metres horizontally of the boudary of zone 1.

You can install shaver sockets within a bathroom.

You can also install outlets such as switched fused units, providing you are outside of the zones and consider the IP ratings.

It could be acceptable to have a socket under a bath providing it is accessible by use of a tool only.

Hope this helps
