The Cablofil steel wire tray cable management system has been installed at Castle Quay, Dandara’s £50 million redevelopment of St Helier’s seafront in Jersey.
Designed by architects Axis Mason, Castle Quay is split over two blocks and comprises 384 apartments, civic and commercial spaces, subterranean car parking and ground floor restaurant space that has already been snapped up by celebrity chef, Marco Pierre White.
Jersey-based DIS Electrical Contractors has been responsible for the electrical installation on the residential scheme, using Cablofil steel wire tray for all the small power in the landlord areas and into each apartment, the lighting system throughout the landlord areas, the low voltage mains cabling for each apartment, the telephone, internet and satellite TV cables and the door entry system, fire alarms and security systems. Cablofil has also been used as the containment for the lighting and emergency lighting system in the basement.
Comments Gary Frame from DIS Electrical Contractors: “The development includes a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments and the specification has to be flexible enough to answer the varying requirements of the apartments. There are large numbers of cables in a single run of steel wire tray in some places so ensuring that we’re using the strongest and most load bearing wire tray in the market is key to getting the job done quickly, efficiently and to a quality standard we can be proud of and the choice of the Cablofil steel wire tray containment system is ideal for this scenario.”
