In Part L of the Building Regulations, zoning is the preferred method of controlling central heating systems in larger houses and buildings. Are there programmers available that can separately control individual zones?
With the regulations now specifying that in new build, no heating zone should exceed 150²m, this electronic programmer is ideally suited, being the first on the market capable of controlling the three required independent channels - one for water and one each for two separate heating zones. The ChannelPlus H37 XL offers seven-day programming, up to three on/off periods in each 24 hours and the option for different settings on each day of the week.
Its big brother, the ChannelPlus H47XL is a combination of four independent seven-day timers each giving up to 3 'on' and 'off' functions per day in a single unit. Unlike other four channel devices on the market, this user friendly programmer has been designed for domestic use, providing advanced, easily programmed features rather than 'time switch' features more suited to industrial applications.
The fourth channel on the new ChannelPlus XL can provide all the functionality of the H37XL plus the option to use the fourth channel for the control of under floor heating which is increasingly favoured for zonal background heating in new build.
