Available in amperages of either 40A or 25A, the track comes in 2m and 4m lengths with socket outlets positioned at 500mm pitch. Constructed from rolled steel it is rigid and strong enough to enable fittings to be suspended from the track, whilst its light weight aids speedy installation. Installation is also helped through the use of snap fix hanging brackets that require no tools to fit. Tap-offs are pre-wired in 1m, 3m and 5m lengths with LSF cable used as standard. The use of PVC cable is an option. All tap-offs are key coded to make them ‘fail safe’ to avoid safety risks in the event of incompatible track/tap-off connections being made. They can be connected and disconnected whilst the track is live, thus saving time and minimising disruption. Patented ‘Crocodile’ snap-fast joints enable track connections to be made in seconds without the need for tools and with minimum of skilled labour. The joints are coded to ensure only matching amperages are connected. The load in the form of luminaires or other equipment that can be suspended from Interact Overhead Power track is dependent on the distance between the supports. And the loads should be evenly distributed between hanging brackets with the maximum deflection being not greater than 1/300. The spacing between the ceiling brackets should not exceed 4m, which is the maximum spacing in which up to 12kg of equipment can be safely suspended. Where the load is up 25kg then the brackets should be no more than 2m apart.
