The technology behind a revolution in sustainable clothing

Swedish company Renewcell are set to open the world's first commercial-scale textile recycling plant, turning old clothes that would have gone to landfill into a new sustainable material called circulose. The factory process, which also saves some 90 billion liters of fresh water a year, is based on a raft of custom-made ABB automation, motors and drives, and electrification technology.
