The company’s latest addition, Powerstar MCCB Panelboards, are designed and manufactured in the UK, bringing Siemens technology, Crabtree reliability and ease of installation to the commercial and light industrial market sectors.
Powerstar Panelboards are available in PS125 or PS250 versions, with busbar ratings of 250A/400A and 400A/630A respectively. A switching unit or direct connection facility is supplied as standard on both variants of panelboard. The incoming switching unit function and rating range is decided by the use of interchangeable modules that provide both 125 & 250 boards with MCCB or switch disconnector functionality.
Powerstar 125 is a TP&N system that accommodates single pole or triple pole outgoing MCCBs rated between 15A and 125A. The Powerstar 250 version is supplied with a 3 or 4 pole incoming switching unit and allows triple pole MCCBs upto 250A to be fitted within the base unit. Add-on units allow additional 250A triple pole or 15A-125A single pole & triple pole outgoing devices.
The rating and characteristics of the incoming MCCB are adjustable by means of an interchangeable trip module meaning less stock needs be held at the distributor or works stores. An integral incoming metering option is also available for all boards, with packs including a digital energy meter, current transformers, fuses, wiring loom and mounting bases. Outgoing metering can be accommodated within meter ways that bolt onto the side of the panel boards and comprise a kit of parts including meter, mounting bracket and CTs.
Powerstar 125 Panel Boards have 6, 8, 12 & 16 TP outgoing MCCB ways and accept 15A to 125A Single Pole and Triple Pole GG frame MCCBs. There are also add-on housings available to accommodate additional MCCBs, metering and single pole MCB distribution boards if required. Side mounted cableways can be bolted to either side of the main unit and door kits are available, which, when fitted, give an ingress protection of IP31 when the doors are closed. Powerstar 250 Panel Boards can accept the larger T2 3 pole MCCBs with interchangeable trip module and also have 2, 4 or 6 outgoing ways. Add-on units are available for these boards to provide for more outgoing ways providing a complete user-defined modular solution.
All Powerstar Panelboards utilise Siemens state of the art circuit breaker technology, are RoHS compliant, and are designed tested & manufactured in the UK to BSEN/IEC 61439-2: 2009. To conform to the latest amendments to the 17th edition of the wiring regulations, a lightning and surge arrestor kit is available which can be fitted to the incomer.
