Question:
My customer is having a new kitchen installed and they have asked me to hide the cooker isolator and all other connection units in a cupboard so that they are out of the way. This would make accessing them potentially quite hard. Is there anything in the regulations that disallows this?
Answer:
Having the isolator remote is acceptable, however, it should still be accessible for maintenance etc.
It is also sensible to remind the client of their purpose i.e. to isolate, sometimes in an emergency. If something is hidden, it is harder to find in a rush.
But moving them to cupboards is allowed.
