Amendment 2 guidance - insulation & continuity testing

Published: 13 May 2022 Category: News

The IET have made it clear that we should conduct an insulation test of our installed cables at 500V as we install them, to ensure there has been no damage during construction. Then on completion another insulation test that could be at 250V (to safeguard any subsequently installed sensitive equipment) to verify that everything is still in order.

Amendment 2 guidance - insulation & continuity testing

Also the IET are keen that the correct parts are bonded, a test to establish whether a conductive part is an ‘extraneous-conductive-part’ which will need to be bonded requires a continuity tester with an extended range. The KT300 is perfect for the job.

KT300

The KT300 is our compact single function insulation/continuity tester ideally placed to assist you with these changes to the regulations.

Not only is it a robust, everyday installation / diagnostic tool that fits into your hand and has a magnetic hanging strap to assist with testing, but the KT300 also has an extended continuity range up to 20 kΩ.
