Question: We are having a discussion at work and are wondering whether is it necessary to use a banjo with earth link on SWA cable at both ends, even if it is not used as a circuit protective conductor (CPC), and is glanded into non-painted gland plates and/or metal enclosures?

Note that we obtain a good earth reading at both ends without a banjo on existing installations, so do we need to start putting them on.

Answer: Yes, putting banjos at both ends would be good engineering practice, based upon your information provided.
