Q & A of the Day - Are there distance requirements for switches?
Question: Is there a regulation which specifies the distance around, and in front of, switch gear/service points that satisfies Regulation 15 of the Electricity at Work Act?

Answer: IEC 60947 will confirm distances requirements as a rule. As to ABB switches, they can be mounted next to each other - and depth is not a problem because of the handle adding to the overall depth.
