Q & A of the Day - In a TT system, what is needed regarding the CPC for circuit protection?
This Q & A is one of thousands posted in our Technical Expertise area, and answered on a daily basis by our Voltimum Experts.

Question: In a TT system using an RCD at the mains incoming supply, what is required regarding the circuit protective conductor (CPC) for individual circuit protection?

Answer: The size of the CPC on the final circuit has to be adequately sized to allow automatic disconnection of supply in the required time, and to stop the risk of danger.

This rule applies no matter what earthing arrangement and does not differ because of the earthing arrangement on the installation.
