Electrical Safety First has launched new guidance to explain landlords' responsibilities for making sure their rental properties are electrically safe, as well as also offering practical advice and guidance.
Our guides are FREE to download and use, and there is one covering the regulations in England & Wales, one for Scotland, and a brand new one for Northern Ireland where new regulations came into force from April 2025.
Any landlord found to have failed to carry out their duties under the regulations for their region could be fined or even end up in court.
If a council believes an offence has been committed, they can take a landlord to court for non-compliance (maximum penalty, a level 5 fine) or impose a fixed penalty notice.
