MCBs give high performance in small package

ABB's System proM S280 miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) occupy what is thought to be a unique position in the UK market as the only MCBs from any manufacturer which are capable of providing over-current protection for equipment and cables up to 100A within a standard width (17.5 mm) single-pole module.

The single pole S280 MCBs, together with double, triple and four pole versions offer the capability to create compact distribution boards for a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications without the requirement for a separate panel board. They are rated for either 80 or 100A with a breaking capacity of 6 kA in accordance to BS EN 60898, and are available with tripping characteristics B or C.

Same shared series of auxiliary elements:

The S280 MCBs are ideally suited for installation in ABB's Protecta final distribution boards or can simply be mounted on standard top hat DIN rail. In common with the other MCBs in ABB's well established S260 and S270 ranges, they can be coupled with the same shared series of auxiliary elements and accessories to provide a variety of functions and configurations. These typically include: auxiliary contacts, signal contacts, shunt trips and under-voltage releases.
