How do I check if electrical work carried out in my home has been Part P registered by the electrician, a home owner asks? This Q & A is one of the thousands posted in our Technical Expertise area and answered by our Voltimum Experts.

Question:
How do I check if Part P electrical work in my home has been registered and notified to my local building control?
Answer:
Dan Jackson FIET,
If the electrical work was carried out by a contractor registered with the NICEIC or Elecsa, you can enter your postcode on www.checkmynotification.com. The website will list all building control notifications in the entered postcode by NICEIC and Elecsa electrical contractors. You can request a copy of the registration for a fee.
The Local Authority Building Control (LABC) recommends to check for notifications, you are to contact the Competent Person Scheme that the installer is accredited by.
