Q & A of the Day - Must caution notices to be applied with isolation locks?
Question: When working on a piece of electrical equipment for maintenance purposes, is it a legal requirement for caution notices to be applied with the isolation lock to the isolated equipment, whether it be at the protective device or local isolator?

Answer: There is a legal requirement to adopt a safe method of working of which caution notices and lock out devices are a part. There also may be a need for a method statement and/or a permit to work - all subject to actual work undertaken.
