Question: Please advise on the code regulation for using flexible metallic conduit inside a gypsum wall.

In my design, I proposed the use flexible metallic conduit drop from above a false ceiling to my wall socket outlet and lighting switches.

However, our consultants rejected it. Instead, they want to use electric metallic conduit (EMT). Why can't I use my preferred method?

Answer: There is no problem with using flexible metallic conduits as the cable drops from the false ceiling to outlet positions when using twin and earth (T&E) cables.

I would ask your consultant on what basis he is rejecting this method of installation.
