Q & A of the Day – A conductor is the wrong colour; how to say so in the EICR?
This Q & A is one of thousands posted in our Technical Expertise area, and answered on a daily basis by our Voltimum Experts.

Question: The Best Practice Guide 3 for EICRs says that if a line conductor is not indentified with the correct colour, the departure does not need to be included in the report.

What would you insert in Box 5.1 of the EICR? I presume it would not just be a tick, as there is a Departure from 514.3.1?

Answer: A tick should not be included in Box 5.1, but a Code 3 should be applied.
