City Electrical Factors (CEF) is proud to announce an exciting new charity partnership with WellChild to help children with complex medical needs thrive at home, supporting families across the UK with fundraising, awareness and practical hands-on help.
WellChild’s work spans specialist nurses, family support programmes and practical projects that make everyday life safer and more manageable for affected families.
Through the partnership, CEF will support families across the UK through fundraising, awareness activity and volunteering, including support for essential home and garden transformations delivered through WellChild’s Helping Hands programme.
As part of the Helping Hands programme, CEF will take part in a number of projects, transforming outdoor spaces into safe, accessible areas where children and their families can enjoy the outdoors together. Projects are completed over a short timeframe to minimise disruption, while delivering lasting improvements and transforming life at home and in the community.
For CEF, the partnership reflects a wider commitment to supporting the communities it serves, with a focus on practical action that makes a real difference to everyday lives.
Alongside involvement in Helping Hands, CEF team members across the business will raise funds to support wider WellChild programmes, such as the Better at Home programme, which enables children to leave hospital sooner and receive care safely at home. Through the provision of state-of-the-art training suites and resources, the programme empowers parents and carers with the confidence to meet the complex care needs of their children, from tracheostomy care to basic life support. This vital training enables children to spend more uninterrupted time at home and less time in hospital.
CEF has already completed three Helping Hands transformations, with further projects planned across the UK this year, including in Northern Ireland and at a community respite centre in Basingstoke.
In one recent project, two brothers, who rely on wheelchairs, were able to safely access their garden for the first time. Level surfaces and open space replaced an area previously difficult and unsafe to use, with the transformation completed in just a few days by CEF volunteers.
Connor Dalton, Director of Sustainability, Health & Safety at CEF commented: “We’re proud to support WellChild and the incredible work they do for seriously ill children and their families across the UK. Giving back to our communities is part of who we are, and partnering with WellChild allows us to contribute with real and lasting impact.”
Matt James, CEO at WellChild added: “We are so excited about our new partnership with CEF. Our shared values, commitment and passion is going to have a profound impact on the lives of so many children and families across the UK and will create a legacy of care for many years to come. We can’t wait to get started!”
CEF selected WellChild as its new charity partner following feedback from team members across the business, with a focus on supporting children, families and people living with long-term health conditions identified as a priority for many on the team. The partnership aligns with CEF Cares, and launches as the business celebrates 75 years of supporting the electrical trade and their communities.
This new charity partnership follows CEF’s long-standing relationship with Macmillan Cancer Support, which saw team members raise more than £1.25 million for the charity. The business will continue to support the Electrical Industries Charity alongside its new partnership with WellChild.
