Legrand Electric has come up with a simple yet ingenious idea for helping electrical contractors save time and money. The company has devised an easy-fit coupling system - thought to be unique - for its Salamandre lighting trunking that will make installation easier, quicker and safer. In trials, installation times have been cut dramatically in comparison to conventional couplers.

The new couplers feature simple semi-sheared tabs that friction-hold fittings firmly in place, making it easier and safer for contractors to complete the screw fixings. In addition, they are noticeably smaller than the old design, but are equally as strong.

Legrand has been able to speed up installation time by halving the number of screw fixings per coupler, whilst maintaining joint strength. Also, all screws are now part screwed into couplers so that joints can be completed with just one screw turn - saving even more installation time.
