Voltimum Founder Member company Legrand Electric has delivered a high-tech solution for a new three-storey, 12-unit technology centre on the Coventry University Science Park:
Specified by electrical contractor, Pel Building Services, Legrand supplied close to 150 lengths of its new ultra-compact Arena-Walsall Power Track busbar system as well as 340 floorboxes and 26 power grommets to carry power, data and voice cabling throughout the new building.
Designed for quick, easy and safe installation, the new Power Track has an overall height of just 47mm, including the tap-off, meaning it can be fitted into the smallest of floor voids. Meanwhile, an innovative click-fit system allows length to be coupled and then securely locked in place with a sliding cover, which can only be released by inserting a screwdriver into the locking point.

Available in a variety of lengths, from 1.2m to 3.6m, the new Power Track range includes four product types - standard, clean earth, dual circuit and three phase. Its design allows both clean earth and standard earth track to combine into a dual circuit system. This innovative development enables simplicity of specification and significantly reduces installation costs for parts and labour.
The new system complies with BS7671:2001 (IEE Wiring regulations, Blue Book), is ASTA certified and tested to BS EN60439-1-1999 and BS EN60439-2-2000 and manufactured within a BSI / ASTA approved BS EN ISO 9002 1994 facility.
