4 |  CONNECT Radio System  Reliable function,  reliable radio connections Secure and innovative: more than  one way to the desired radio receiver  The CONNECT radio system finds new ways  of transmitting the radio signal. To be specific: always the best way. Sometimes it leads directly to the target receiver and sometimes it is  forwarded via another receiver – depending on which receiver is currently best receiving the radio signal.  The re-routing technology makes this possible. Your benefit: always the most reliable radio connections.  Reliable function with reliable radio connections is the be-all and end-all of a mature radio system; this is precisely what the CONNECT radio system offers.  CONNECT with  re-routing technology for reliable functionality  Always in dialogue:  Transmitter and receiver Transmitters and receivers are in dialogue for optimal transmission of the radio signal. That means it is not a case of sending out a one-way radio signal; instead, it is constantly checked that the receiver really has received the radio signal. The receiver sends a response when it has received the signal from the transmitter.  If the reception acknowledgment is missing once (e.g. due to a reflective wall), the  CONNECT radio system automatically searches for another way to transmit the radio signal to the receiver. For example, via another radio  receiver in an adjacent room that can forward the signal to the actual receiver. Perfect conditions for a reliable, trouble-free radio system in which, by the way, up to 100 participants can be networked together. A technical standard   created by numerous prominent manufac turers and successfully established worldwide. There are various solutions based on Z-Wave TM  from  suppliers like Black & Decker, Hunter Douglas, Universal Electronics and Danfoss. Interference-free: signal received  on 868 MHz radio frequency  To protect you from interference, the CONNECT radio system uses the frequency 868 MHz, which has been specially reserved for short-distance radio. This means a low possibility of interference from other control, identification and positioning systems and audio devices transmitting in parallel.  Schneider Electric technology:  Safe and environmentally friendly The CONNECT radio system does not permanently transmit signals, only when a radio transmitter is actuated (sensor network). The radio transmission capacity is negligible in comparison to wireless DECT mobile telephones, mobile phones or WLAN systems, for example, and is completely safe in terms of building biology. Its attractive and slender design is impressive, and it combines two kinds of technology in one device: infrared and radio. With it, up to four AV devices  or Schneider Electric IR components can be controlled via infrared. At the same time, it allows you to operate CONNECT radio system devices. If a device cannot be found in the extensive IR database, the integrated learning function makes it possible to easily save IR codes from other remote controls. CONNECT Radio System   | 13 CONNECT 4-gang radio transmitter Increased flexibility Multi-gang options For installations which require multi-gang assemblies for centralised control, the Ultimate grid system provides a comprehensive mix and match design. Wouldn’t it be great if the light switches on the grid plate could be integrated on to the CONNECT radio network? They can… Our solution is the CONNECT 4-gang radio transmitter, which is a battery powered device designed for installation within the mounting box of an Ultimate grid plate. There is no limitation as to the size of the grid plate which can be used – simply install more than one 4-gang radio transmitters. When wired to a series of retractive switch modules, the CONNECT 4-gang radio transmitter will send signals to the assigned CONNECT radio receivers to switch or dim the lighting. With a range of approximately 30 meters, the receivers don’t even need to be located within the same room.
