Amendment 2 Compliance Made Easy with Innovative Product Solutions AFDDs Mandated, SPDs in All Installations & Extended Use of RCDs RCD TEST Protection Against Fire Caused by Electrical Equipment Overvoltage protection devices (SPDs) are now required in all installations, however, in some cases the owner can opt out and accept all risks from such overvoltages. See Regulation 443.4.1 AFDDs are now mandatory for socket circuits in certain types of buildings and are recommended for socket circuits in all other types of building. See Regulation 421.1.7 Protection Against Transient Overvoltages Outdoor Lighting Installations BAR BAR BAR Testing of RCDs has been revised and now only requires test at I∆n i.e. residual rated operating current. See Chapter 64 Outdoor lighting that is accessible to the public now requires additional protection by 30mA RCD or RCBO. See Section 714 Testing RCDs & RCBOs RCD RCD TEST RCDTEST TEST Exhibitons & Show Stands 30mA RCD protection is required on socket outlets. No exceptions are allowed in locations where sockets are used by ordinary persons, children or disabled persons.
