18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations Amendment 2 RCBOs in Residential Premises Unwanted Tripping Chapters 53 & 31 Where additional protection is required (by use of a 30mA device) designers should consider the use of RCBOs for individual final circuits in residential premises. See Chapter 53 & Chapter 31 Also designers must ensure that any earth leakage currents occurring during normal operation of equipment will not cause unwanted tripping, PE currents must be kept below 30% of 30mA (9mA) All installations must be divided into numerous final circuits so as to avoid danger and minimize inconvenience in the event of a single fault, eg avoid hazards from the failure of a single circuit such as a lighting circuit. RCBOs avoid unwanted tripping Using RCBOs on individual final circuits will ensure healthy circuits remain in service, and only the faulty circuit trips Find out more at: www.electrium.co.uk/AM2 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations Amendment 2 RCBOs in Residential Premises Unwanted Tripping Chapters 53 & 31 Where additional protection is required (by use of a 30mA device) designers should consider the use of RCBOs for individual final circuits in residential premises.
