Nearly 70 years ago, in 1948, the very first inductive clamp meter named “Amprobe” was invented in the United States by Pyramid Instrument Company. Soon after, the Amprobe name became so synonymous in the US with clamp meters that in 1960 the company name was formally changed to Amprobe Instrument Corporation.
