Two years ago, Philips announced that it was stopping the production of 8ft T12 fluorescent lamps.
The company believed that the lamp's old technology, high running costs and high mercury content made it unsuitable for todays market.
The success of that decision has encouraged the company to announce that it will now stop production of all bi-pin T12 lamps in June 20081. Like the 8fts, these tubes have passed their useful life, are expensive to operate, waste energy and are not environment-friendly.
Furthermore, almost all of the T12 lamps in use today can be replaced directly by the more efficient T8 without changing gear or fittings. If you're currently using a T12, you can switch to any lamp from the Philips MASTER TL-D range: Super 80 for the most economical upgrade, ECO for energy-savings, Reflex for the most light, Xtreme for the longest life, or our new ActiViva for the best in people and environment-friendly performance, to name just a few.
Check the chart below to see how easily you can upgrade and save energy and maintenance costs. Then call your Philips representative or Oliver Wong at 01483 293 052 if you need more information.
