People in the UK are willing to pay more money in order to be more environmentally-friendly, according to a study by Cahoot.

Around 40 per cent of Britons are prepared to pay up to ten per cent more for products which are better for the environment, but more women than men are concerned with this. 69 per cent of women endeavour to buy green goods, according to the poll.

Sixty-four per cent of those living in the UK prefer to purchase products which are environmentally-friendly, it was also found.

Matthew Timms, director of Cahoot, said that customers can capitalise on special offers in shops and cash back deals in order to help themselves to go green.

According to investment firm Jupiter, the rise of the ethical consumer is set to help green investing grow in the long-term.
