There’s been a fast return on their investment for some of the new Dimplex accredited air source heat pump installers – with some completing both their training and first installations within less than a month.

South Wales-based Micaul Solar Limited was one of the first to complete the Dimplex two day training course and gain official accreditation and was able to go straight out and start quoting for work.
Mike Dowell, Micaul managing director explains: “We’ve found that the Dimplex course has made a real difference to our business. Because the course gives a thorough understanding of the technology, we are able talk knowledgably to potential customers, which gives us real credibility in a crowded renewables marketplace. We can also turn quotes round very quickly, in days, rather than weeks, as we don’t need to wait for outsourced input, and we can show the customer exactly how we’ve arrived at the price quoted.
An early installation was carried out by Micaul at an old stone house near to Aberystwyth, which is being renovated to modern highly-insulated building standards. After attending the Dimplex training course in October, the installation took place the following month, with commissioning following a few months later.
A Dimplex LA 11 MS air source heat pump was installed externally, with warmth extracted from the ambient air in the sheltered Welsh valley being used to heat a low-level wet central heating system. The Dimplex air source heat pump is one of the quietest models available, so it doesn’t disturb the peace and quiet.
Mike Dowell continues: “We’ve now got orders for another two systems, plus we’ve put together over a dozen quotes in the last couple of months.”
The Dimplex course is open to experienced heating, plumbing, electrical and HVAC installers and is supported with a dedicated training facility at Dimplex’s Southampton headquarters, with training also available at Chesterfield and Inverness.
