The new edition of BS 7671 has been published and will come into effect on the 1st July 2008. Electrical installations designed after that date should comply with this new standard.
Following on from the initial programme of seminars for SELECT members, SELECT are holding another series of these talks in various locations around the country to highlight the changes in BS 7671. These seminars are recommended to the following professionals in the construction industry:
- Local Authority Engineers
- Building Standards Managers/Surveyors
- Architects
- Building Surveyors
- Consulting Engineers
- Any other similar interested parties
The short seminars will provide an overview of the changes and will provide the opportunity to ask questions of SELECT’s Head of Technical Services David Millar who has been heavily involved in the consultation and development of the new standard. Tom Mitchell, Head of Member Services will also attend these seminars and will be available to discuss any other issues such as the Scottish Building Standards Electrical Installation Certification Scheme.
The events are Free of charge and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. These seminars will commence at 10.30 am and tea/coffee will be served from 10.00 am. They will finish at approximately 12.00 pm with a buffet lunch. CPD certificates can be obtained on request.
