Question: Where can we find information regarding the current ratings of brass and stainless steel bolts and set-screws?
Answer: Further to your enquiry, we comment as follows - we are not aware of any published ratings for current carrying ability for bolts and screws. For terminations to electrical equipment it is common for fasteners to ensure the contact between current carrying parts, rather than providing the sole current path. For some equipment, studs may be used as terminals. In such cases, the design should take account of the duties, e.g. steady state and starting, also method of connection (e.g. lug). The design should be proven by type testing, and the manufacturer should specify acceptable means of connection.
