Imperveous to dust and moisture, outstandingly tough and fire resistant, the new range of Thalassa industrial boxes from Sarel, a division of Schneider Electric, provide outstanding protection in even the toughest environments. They are rated to IP66 ingress protection, IK07 or better impact and are flame resistant to at least 650C.
The range includes both deep and shallow boxes, with sizes from 65 x 65 x 47mm to 325 x 275 x 160mm, and all sizes can be supplied in versions manufactured from either low-cost ABS or high-performance polycarbonate. For larger applications, multiple Thalassa boxes can easily be coupled together.
The box lids, which are available in transparent or opaque versions, are secured by four coarse-pitch screws that ensure fast and easy fitting combined with efficient sealing. Alternatively, the range includes optional hinges which can be fitted to 125 x 80mm and larger boxes.
As standard, all Thalassa industrial boxes incorporate convenient fixing studs to facilitate the installation of accessories such as mounting plates and DIN rail. All of the studs are the same diameter, and only one size of screw is used to fit the accessories.
Designed to meet the highest environmental standards, Thalassa boxes are manufactured from materials which are completely halogen free. In addition, they are supplied in packaging which can be re-used to store or transport the boxes after they are equipped.
Standard Thalassa industrial boxes are available from Sarel distributors throughout the UK. In most cases, delivery is ex-stock for small to medium quantities of popular sizes. Other sizes and larger quantities are typically delivered within a few days.
For medium- and high-volume applications, Sarel also offers customised Thalassa boxes, which can, for example, be supplied in special colours, or with holes and apertures ready cut. Other customisation options include special marking, packaging variants and pre-installed accessories.
