While we wait with baited breath to see whether British talent can scoop the big awards at this year’s Oscars, cable management specialist, Mita, has played a ‘leading role’ in helping the next generation of film and TV hopefuls to realise their dreams.
Mita’s aemsa wire cable tray has been installed throughout a new teaching and administration building at the National Film and Television School (NFTS) in Beaconsfield. The UK's national centre of excellence for education in film and television programme making has been nurturing film and TV talent since it first opened in 1971. The school has unrivalled production, performance and teaching facilities in its sector and the new three-storey building will house a cinema and auditorium, library, teaching rooms, offices and a refectory for both staff and the 180 students who attend the school. The complex audio-visual and lighting equipment used by the NFTS meant that the cable management system used had to be suitable for housing the building’s extensive cabling requirements, yet flexible enough to adapt to the school’s future cabling needs. Combining ease of installation with future-proof flexibility, Mita’s aemsa wire cable tray was used to site both power and data cables under the floor. Commented David Grey, contract manager at Lightning Electrical Ltd, “The aemsa wire cable tray had a starring role in this project, even though the students and teaching staff using the building won’t even know it’s there! It has helped to dramatically update facilities at the NFTS and its ease of use and versatility have contributed towards keeping this complex installation on schedule.”
