BSRIA has just announced the acquisition of Proplan - global market research specialists in the building environmental controls, fire protection and security sector. All reports written by the Proplan team are still available and may be obtained from BSRIA, under the BSRIA Proplan brand, and new reports will be developed by the new, larger team of market researchers.
Chris Monson of Trend Control Systems and a client of both BSRIA and Proplan, expressed satisfaction that two companies with such a wealth of knowledge were combining forces. “Suppliers will now be able to obtain the market intelligence for both their own products and the systems they integrate into from a consolidated source and on a comparable basis. This acquisition will benefit suppliers and distribution channels across the industry”.
Commenting on the acquisition, Andrew Eastwell, BSRIA’s chief executive said, “this business complements BSRIA’s own activities well, and supports our ambitions to grow our market share in worldwide construction market research. Proplan has an excellent image in the very important sector of controls.”
Proplan’s senior researcher, Jeremy Towler has now joined BSRIA and will bring in-depth experience in all the controls sectors. The industry will miss the input of Allan McHale, who is retiring from the business, but BSRIA’s own experts in this field, Gambi Chiang and Andrew Giles, will be working with Jeremy both on multi client reports and consultancy assignments.
Allan McHale welcomed the merger with BSRIA and said, "I am delighted that Proplan has found such a good home and now with BSRIA's greater resources in place the business will rapidly expand to meet our clients’ needs. The combined skills of the two companies will enhance the ability to provide comprehensive and integrated services on a worldwide front."
