Rufus Logan has been appointed as the new Director of BRE Scotland, the leading provider of technical and consultancy support for the construction industry and Government in the country.
Rufus has worked at BRE since 2002, taking a lead role in developing and securing a number of key strategic sustainability programmes, including the SmartLIFE project in Cambridgeshire, BRE’s globally renowned Innovation Park, and the Knowledge Transfer Network for the Modern Built Environment (MBEKTN), funded by the Technology Strategy Board.
His work on BRE’s regional growth resulted in the creation of a new office in Inverness – BRE Highlands, and in 2005 BRE Wales, based at Port Talbot.
Talking about his new role Mr Logan says "It’s an exciting time to take up this role in BRE Scotland, when the need for our services particularly in regard to sustainability is more pressing than ever. My team have been commissioned by Glasgow City Council (as part of a consortium) to act as sustainability advisors on the re-development of the Bellgrove site in Glasgow’s East End. I see great opportunities for extending BRE Scotland’s reach on projects like this as well as on key areas like sustainable building materials, energy performance of buildings, innovation support and professional training services."
Previously to BRE, Rufus worked for Scottish Enterprise, based in Dumfries and Galloway, and was also part of the Scottish Enterprise Network national team that led the development and subsequent delivery of Scotland’s Forest Industry Cluster Strategy 1997 - 2001.
