The Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations Update 2382-20 course provides delegates with an awareness of the main alterations and additions incorporated into BS 7671:2008.

It is primarily aimed at practising electricians and other associated professionals such as electrical engineers, contract managers, designers, consultants, surveyors, and other related trades. All delegates should have a good working knowledge of BS 7671, and have already achieved the City & Guilds 2381 Certificate in the requirements for electrical installations (BS 7671: 2001) or a recognized equivalent.

There are eight units making up the course relating to Parts 1-7 and the Appendices of BS 7671:2008. These include Scope, object and fundamental principles, Definitions, Assessment of general characteristics, Protection for safety, Selection and erection of equipment, Inspection and testing, Special installations or locations and Appendices.

The course lasts for one day with a GOLA (Global Online Assessment) exam at the end of it. Of the 10 delegates that attended the very first course, all passed the GOLA exam.

“NICEIC Group has been working alongside City & Guilds to create a new suite of qualifications for the electrical contracting industry. NICEIC has played a key role in shaping these qualifications to ensure they are relevant, up-to-date and practical,” comments Angus Moir NICEIC Group Chief Operating Officer.
