Question: A customer has approached me with a problem he is having with his low bay lighting. When the plant compressor kicks in, they are put into darkness as parts of the lighting system goes out. Could you please give me any ideas has to why this is happening? Please also give any possible remedies.

Answer: It is likely that when a compressor kicks in, the lighting circuit may see a dip in the supply voltage. This can be enough for HID lamps to go out. I would suggest that you put the compressor on a different circuit.
