APPLICATION STAGES

Stage 1
The first step towards winning your prize is to complete the entry form and hand it to your college lecturer and/or employer who will endorse it before returning it to us.  This initial stage tests your theoretical and basic practical installation knowledge.

All entry forms are passed to an independent judging panel of industry experts who select ten semi-finalists.  From these ten, three finalists are chosen to show their practical skills in action during the final stage – the practical day.

Stage 2
The final stage is both challenging and fun.  The three finalists are invited to take part in a practical exercise, run under City & Guilds Guidelines and assessed by a panel of independent judges.

The finalists are asked to complete a wall mounted electrical installation and it is their chance to impress the judges with their hands-on practical skills and knowledge.  This will be assessed by the judges on various criteria, from specification to presentation.  It is the ultimate test to find the best!

AWARDS DINNER
This is the chance for the three finalists, their college lecturer and employer to celebrate with an all expenses paid evening in London.  The Awards Dinner is organised by Electrical and Mechanical Contractor Magazine and Building Services Journal and is held at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

With well over 900 people attending and a well-known TV celebrity presenting the awards, an exciting atmosphere is guaranteed, culminating in the unveiling of the winner of the MK Apprentice of the Year 2008.  It will be an entertaining night, and one to remember!
