After visiting 27 venues, talking to over 1000 contractors and specifiers and being on the road for more than 60 days, MK Electric can justifiably say it has switched on its latest initiative in the biggest way possible. No region of the UK has been left untouched as the company sought to meet as many of its customers as it could to unveil “Switch on MK” – a programme designed to educate, inform and excite the trade about MK’s products and services.

The evening events, which began in October, comprised informal and interactive presentations with the accent on learning while still having a laugh trying to answer questions from the MK quizmaster using special hand held buzzers. Each night the three highest scoring customers were rewarded with prizes at the end of the night while all attendees had the chance to win a fabulous holiday in exciting Dubai.
Afterwards customers had the opportunity to chat with MK personnel over drinks and food while being able to cast an eye over the new products being launched including ranges from the Wiring Devices, Cable Management and Friedland portfolios.
To support the roll out and for those who could not attend the roadshows, MK has launched a new website, www.switchonmk.com that further supports the business’ drive to improve its relationship with customers. It features new product information, design service, downloads including the new 17th Edition podcast and an e-learning facility to help those working towards the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certification.
Head of Marketing, Gavin Williams, who spearheaded the rollout, was impressed with the reception and feedback from attendees:” Those who made the effort to come to the roadshows really enjoyed themselves and learned something into the bargain. There are many positives to take from the last couple of months, not least of which is that the customer is our first priority and we should seek to put them at the centre of everything we do.”
